The OOTB search center doesn't have any navigation and the minimal.master doesn't show any top navigation. You could see the detail description of the issue here and John Ross explained the scenario here
However, I don't see a best simple solution posted yet. So I thought I would that little thing for you :
1. Open your sharepoint designer and make a copy of minimal.master to minimal_search.master
2. Now, edit the minimal_search.master in the advanced mode.
3. look for "PlaceHolderTitleBreadcrumb"
4. Paste the below sample code within the specified div tag - This code is nothing but the top nav.

5.Goto your search site and modify the master page to minimal_search.master
6. Create a Top Navigation for search site from your home site.
